Style Guidelines: Until Christmas Ale was born, we stuck strictly to the essential ingredients of beer: malt, hops, water and yeast. When we brew Christmas Ale though, we drop everything we're doing, grab some chairs (and beers!) and sit around zesting oranges while we chat. We add them and fresh young ginger, whole cinammon sticks and organic honey to the brew. It's hard not to get cheerful when doing such a special task. It's how we get into the holiday spirit, and apparently so do you. A guest once proclaimed, "It wouldn't be the holidays without Barley's Christmas Ale!" Rotation Schedule: on tap at both locations the week before Thanksgiving, until we run out, usually between Christmas and New Years Eve. Food Pairings: Thanksgiving dinner, pumpkin pie, standing rib roast, hard cheese, fruitcake |
